What is Summer Youth Work Experience?

Career Exploration programs are designed for first time or younger participants who can benefit from job shadowing experiences. Work Experiences are designed for older participants to teach work skills and develop a work history.

What Pathways will do...

• independent living skills such as budgeting, time management, development of vocational interests, and job seeking skills training.

prepare the individual for permanent competitive integrated employment and independence.

instruction on job responsibilities and job safety,

•following schedules, following a task analysis, and engaging in appropriate work relationships, social interactions, and behaviors.

•youths will be partnered with one of our Graduate Mentors who will teach skills necessary before completing tasks independently. (This could include taking out individual dogs to go to the bathroom, filling water, brushing/grooming, performing clerical work, interacting with customers, maintaining a clean work environment, or teaching dog tricks).

Our summer youth program is one of a kind and provides young adults with an experience that will create an excitement when they think of the word ‘work’.
